Join me in my exclusive workshop,

"Mastering Equine Realism in Oil Painting” -

create stunning, life-like equine portraits that radiate depth, detail, and emotion,

without painting every hair!

If you've ever wanted to know how I create my equine pieces - this is it!

In this course, I’ll be sharing my years of experience and unique techniques that bring horses to life on canvas.

In case we have never met - let me introduce myself - I’m a realist artist, working mostly in oils (or sometimes charcoal). I’m a New Zealander but have been living in the UK since 1993.

Although I’m happy to paint anything with a soul, I return time and time again to painting horses. Apart from a love affair with these wonderful creatures, I have developed an endless fascination with the sublime beauty and softness of their coat, hiding a muscular and skeletal structure beneath that is capable of enormous power and strength. Capturing this duality is both a passionand a struggle that is likely to last a lifetime!

I am so often asked about my process and in particular, how I achieve such a level of detail in my work without losing that ‘paintlerly’ feel that takes it beyond a photograph into a piece of art. After many requests, I have created a course for you that I hope will answer all your questions and guide your through my process from start to finish.

It’s been an amazing experience, I’ve learnt so much. Nikki’s teaching techniques are incredible, she managed to give me the knowledge and tools that have helped me aspire to be the artist I never imagined I could be. She also has taught me to believe in myself, which many of us struggle with.
